About
Vizibil is a non-profit organisation in Cluj-Napoca that supports visual artists who face social barriers, disability or vulnerable circumstances in taking an active part in cultural life.
We do what we do because every person deserves to be listened to and recognised as a source of creativity, perspective and cultural value.

Our programmes
Gallery & exhibitions
We create spaces where artists present their work. We organise physical and digital exhibitions that bring the maker, the works and their journey to the fore.
Art workshops
Travelling workshops for expression and well-being through art. We go to partner centres with series of workshops designed for the people they support, their families and the social workers. We offer a practical setting focused on artistic expression, exploration and well-being.
Art residencies
Room to grow, and direct support for makers. We offer resources and mentoring to artists who want to go deeper into a project, try out new ideas and develop their practice.
Community events
Meeting points that remove the barriers between artists and the community. We organise openings, participatory workshops and gatherings around making art, which bring people from the community together and create spaces for dialogue and connection.
The people behind Vizibil
We prepare the workshops, exhibitions and projects, together with the artists.

Vlăduț Căliman
strategy & development manager
Vlăduț is a cultural worker with a passion for history and for the ways people make sense of the world around them through culture. Naturally drawn to the social sphere, he firmly believes in culture as a tool for emancipation, cohesion and community development. Largely self-taught, shaped by non-formal learning, with experience in NGOs and B2B and an aim of working in social entrepreneurship, he has developed a cultural practice that explores how people live together. Beyond his cultural work, he finds calm in gardening, in painting and in simple moments, such as his morning coffee while he looks out at the horizon.

Ana Boghean
operations & projects manager
Ana has an interdisciplinary background, with studies in law, forensic psychology and art, and experience in European projects, entrepreneurial ecosystems and NGOs. She is curious about people, about how they relate to themselves and to the world around them, and about what brings them closer to one another.
She is interested in well-being, in contemplative practices and in what happens when you give up the need to control everything and let things be as they are. In perfect contrast with this aspiration, she has an almost incurable tendency to analyse everything in depth, including her own tendency to analyse everything in depth.

Cristina Maria Lazăr
communications & public relations manager
Cristina studied Communication and is now doing a master’s degree in Documentary Film. Since she was little, she has been drawn to everything to do with visual art and human diversity. She took her passion for photography from her family and has turned it from a hobby into a core part of her career. She has always liked working in the socio-cultural field and getting involved in activities she feels have a positive impact on society. She feels that art, in all its forms, is what makes us special as human beings, and believes it is something that has helped us connect with one another over time.

Szabó Enikő Réka
residencies & artistic development coordinator
Enikő is a visual artist specialising in ceramics and modelling, with experience in coordinating art workshops for people from vulnerable backgrounds or situations. Empathetic, and with a keen interest in art therapy, Eni devotes her work to building settings in which art becomes a means of expression and of bringing people closer together. At Vizibil, she brings art closer to the community as coordinator of the artist residency programmes, creating spaces for meeting, growth and support.

Vlad Braga
workshop facilitator & creative development
Vlad is a multidisciplinary artist navigating the ocean of the visual arts. A graduate of the Faculty of Journalism in Cluj-Napoca, he discovered photography in his first year, at the photojournalism workshop, where he learned the basics of photography and began experimenting with different techniques in street photography. Since 2020 he has focused on portraiture, a field close to his heart.
Today he sees himself above all as a portrait photographer in search of honesty and stories. This wish to capture the honest side of people has drawn him to documentary work, in photography as well as in directing. He lives and documents the life around him, the local music scene, artists and family, and his role in this project clearly reflects his social and cultural leanings.
Characteristic of him is his love of football, an activity that serves as a bridge to his inner child as well as to the people around him.

Tünde Mezei
workshop facilitator & ethical representation (online & offline)
Tünde is a social worker and a psychotherapist in training. In her professional and her personal life alike, she is passionate about what art makes possible as a way of processing emotions and of developing an authentic personality. She places particular importance on mental health, a field in which she has spent three years exploring the influence of different art forms, facilitating creative writing and theatre groups for people with a psychiatric diagnosis and for people with a range of disabilities.
In her work she puts the emphasis on the helping relationship, which she sees as a partnership rather than a relationship of subordination. She considers herself a person who is always curious, excited by the creations that come to life before her eyes, and easily moved when she receives or gives positive feedback. In her free time she loves being part of a community, crocheting, reading poetry and singing.

How to become a Vizibil artist
We work with artists who want their work to be seen. It doesn’t matter whether you have studied art: what matters is what you make.
