Creating, guided by music

A workshop in artistic expression through music, in the Pas Cultural project: when piano notes become art.

In the Pas Cultural project, we recently shared a very special moment: an immersive session of visual creation guided by music, in which sound and colour came together in a deeply participatory experience.

In a warm atmosphere, we enjoyed the company of the artist Ada Morar, who lifted our spirits with her piano performance. For 30–40 minutes, the music became the main source of inspiration for everyone there.

A shared space for creating and expressing

On the tables, the participants had a variety of art materials and were invited to let the rhythm of the music carry them and to put what they felt in that moment into shapes, lines and colours.

The beauty of this participatory workshop lay in the diversity of the group. Around the same table were:

  • people who attend Centrul Maltez,
  • social workers,
  • family members of the people who attend,
  • members of the project team.

Without the pressure to make a “perfect work”, everyone let themselves be guided by the mood of the piano music, exploring their creativity freely and in a relaxed way.

Sharing, emotion and connection at the end

The session ended with a valuable moment of shared reflection. Each participant presented their work and told the others what thoughts, feelings or memories had inspired them while they listened.

It was a moving exercise in openness, in which we discovered how differently and beautifully music resonates in each of us, and how art can become an invisible bridge between people with very different life stories.
